Vinexpo Asia-Pacific in Hong Kong trade show center

Over 60 Italian wine manufacturers and exporters will be presenting their best wine collections from Italy at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centered hosted by Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

The fourth Asian Vinexpo featuring 840 exhibitors from 32 countries opened in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong trade show, also known as Vinexpo Aisa Pacific 2010, gains supported from Italian Trade Commissioner Mr Romano Baruzzi.

“”As the Hong Kong Government has decided to exempt the duty on wine, beer and all other alcoholic beverages with the exception of spirits, Hong Kong now has the potential to become the Asian hub for wine trading, promotion and investment. Apart from the tax abolishment, the efforts to improve logistic facilitation and customs clearance provided by the Hong Kong SAR Government will certainly raise the importing volume of Italian wines in Hong Kong in the future.”

In the first three months of 2010, Italy has exported US3.4 million red wines to Hong Kong, showing a dramatic increase of 86.1% compared to the same period in 2009. A record of US498,000 white wines and US115,000 sparkling wines have also been exported to Hong Kong Kong from Italy in the first quarter of 2010, representing a 20.4% and 20.6% increase, respectively.

As a gateway to mainland China, a group of professional buyers from Guangzhou are invited to attend the exhibition. Leading the Chinese push on the opening day were the people from Dynasty Fine Wines, mainland China’s leading winemakers who unveiled their Premier Royal Selection – Dynasty Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2005 and the Dynasty Muscat Sparkling Wine.
