HK Computer and Communication Festival one dollar USB giveaway

Electronic and computer bargain-hunters get yourself ready for must-buys at the Hong Kong Computer and Communication Festival (HKCCF) to be held during August 20-23 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This year’s must-buys include:

  • HK$1 for Toshiba 2GB memory flash drive which worth HK$79 originally
  • HK$480 Thomson home theater set originally worth HK$1,380
  • HK$1,999 Kohjinsha laptops, down from HK$2,900

Leung Ding-kau, chairman of the Chamber of Hong Kong Computer Industry, said he expects 700,000 visitors to the fair compared with 635,000 last year and there will be 1,200 booths. Buyers can check out the Hong Kong and overseas Computer and Communication exhibitors’ listing here.

He predicts a 15 percent rise in sales from last year’s HK$280 million, of which 900 will be for exhibitors from Macau, Taiwan and the Zhujiang River Delta region.

Serving as a daily highlight of the fair are the open auctions held every afternoon. Among the items to be auctioned off are Apple iPads, iMacs and eBook readers.

HKCCF was first launched in 2004 in response to the rapid growing development of computer and information technology and the need for open up new opportunities in the industry.
