China’s Alibaba acquires a new Wholesale Platform
According to information from the domain name enquiry tool Whois, Alibaba (HKSE 1688) acquires a new domain 1688.com. The link leads users to a page which says Alibaba will soon launch its 1688.com China wholesale platform and the company is to invest CNY100 million to promote this service via China Central Television (CCTV).

In the meantime, Alipay.com, Alibaba’s Internet payment subsidiary, has reportedly bought the domain names of Zhifubao.com and Zhifu.com and is expected to put these new domains into use in the near future.
