Below is the details of the notice:

On 16 and 17 April 2010, Alibaba.com’s AliExpress platform was the target of malicious attacks by unidentified hackers. Our servers in the United States and China were the target of these attacks. The attacks temporarily affected access to the AliExpress site. Since most of our buyers are from the United States, we would like thank our U.S. buyers for their understanding.

AliExpress quickly resumed normal operation thanks to our existing security measures, safeguards and the swift response of our technical team. Most importantly, our user data was completely unaffected by the attack, with no breach of member data whatsoever. We are taking additional measures to ensure that user interests are even better protected from any possible future incidents.

As a company dedicated to helping small businesses around the world, Alibaba.com strongly condemns hacks on any website. We have reported the incident to the relevant authorities and we will cooperate with any investigations that might take place.

AliExpress is an online wholesale marketplace dedicated to serving small businesses around the world. Current in our beta phase, the official launch of AliExpress in the U.S. and other markets will take place later this month as planned. AliExpress is continually working towards ensuring the safe and uninterrupted operation of our website and to better serve our users worldwide.
